About

Opening for Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbot, 2018.

Hello! Welcome to my tiny corner of the internet. 🙂 I’m a songwriter and singer from near Manchester in the UK.  I write songs that tell stories — many of them with a slightly dark aspect or twist to them. I like playing with the tension between a chirpy tune and darker lyrics. I’m also a composer; I’ve written scores for plays, short films, and podcasts. And I’m self-taught in music production, and I recently released a self-produced debut album, Logic Projects.

Some of my influences are Yusuf Islam/Cat Stevens, Bob Dylan, Tracy Chapman, Paul Heaton, Kirsty Maccoll, Leonard Cohen, Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Pete Doherty, Alex Turner, Jacques Brel, Georges Brassens, and various poets.

My music has received radio airplay: Paul Heaton gave my track ‘Teddy Bear’ a spin on BBC 6 Music when he appeared as a guest on Radcliffe and Maconie in December 2018. My song ‘Village Moon’ also received airplay on BBC Introducing songs of the year in December 2018.

I am always working on new material and projects (like a children’s musical – stay tuned). My original songs are released on all major streaming platforms and Bandcamp.

Thanks for stopping by and giving the music a listen.

Conor
